Breast Lifting

Breast lift surgery can be performed in various ways depending on the size of the breast. This surgery is performed under general anesthesia in cases that develop due to sagging of the breast tissue. Sagging in the breast tissue can be congenital, may develop over time, or may occur after birth. This surgery can be performed on breasts whose ligaments are weakened sometimes due to breastfeeding, sometimes due to frequent weight gain and loss and sag due to the effect of gravity. Sagging breast tissue is rebuilt. The procedure in which excess breast tissue is removed and the nipple is pulled up should be carried out in a mutual trust relationship between the doctor and the patient.

How Is Breast Lift Aesthetic Surgery Performed?

Sagging of the breasts may occur due to frequent weight gain and loss, weight loss, post-pregnancy breastfeeding, time and gravity. The loss of the elastic structure of the skin with aging can also disrupt the upright shape of the breast. This surgery can be performed as a result of these situations. Breast lift surgery takes place under general anesthesia. The operation takes 2-2.5 hours. The purpose of breast lift is to reshape the sagging tissue, to cut out the increased breast skin and to align the nipple to a vertical point. The surgery can be most successful in small and medium sized breasts. If breasts are small, silicone prosthesis can be used. In large breasts, first breast reduction surgery is performed for lifting surgery, then the lift step is started.
It is a rare breast pseudoptosis, or false sagging, that is confused with breast sagging. In this case, the patient's nipple is highly displaced. It is mostly seen in breasts that lose their volume after pregnancy. In this case, breast augmentation surgery is considered.
